![]() ![]() This tuba is basically the same, I was sold… unfortunately, it has been out of production for many years. ![]() When I found out that Hirsbrunner offered this model, the HB192 as a 3 valve compensating instrument, I was sold! This seemed like the perfect tuba for my needs! And how cool, a 3 valve rotary compensating BBb based on their famous size! The HB2 CC tuba is prominent in LA, both Doug Tornquist and Gary Hickman play this tuba in the studios and I've loved their sounds. I've had many tubas over the years to try to find a comfortable match, EEb tubas, CC tubas, BBb tubas. I'll be the first to say that I am a trombonist by trade and leave the real tuba playing to the folks who have dedicated themselves to the instrument, I have a lot of respect for them as tuba is hard! However, sometimes I will find myself in a situation where I need to double on the instrument. Since the first time I heard a Hirsbrunner tuba (Chuck Koontz playing Norm Pearson's HB6 CC Tuba, I loved this horn!) I wanted to own one. ![]()
